Wind power

Wind power is a way to produce electricity with the least emissions. A small wind farm can produce energy for an apartment particularly in sparsely populated areas where there is more space for the wind turbines compared to densely built cities. Wind turbine rotors need to reach clear above the tree tops and any other obstacles. Explore local wind conditions before making an investment.

Wind power is a way to produce electricity with the least emissions.

A small 2.5 kW turbine can produce 2500–5000 kWh of electricity, covering the annual consumption of 2–3 persons excluding heating. Wind power should be used directly in home appliances to avoid storing or transmitting electricity and related charges. Neighbouring detached houses can share a wind farm. Note that placing a wind turbine on a roof will cause resonance. The wind power farm or a share of a plant can be located outside one’s property or plot. Noise and blade clutter need to be taken into account when deciding the location of a wind farm.

The carbon footprint of wind power is 10–20 g CO2/kWh.
