Save natural resources by repairing items

Repair

Repairing old items, including houses and any smaller items, is important for both saving natural resources and for mitigating climate change. The culture of repair has been replaced by disposable consumption. Measures to make daily circulation economy easier:

  • Contact your housing company or your city district and demand public facilities for repair workshops. Perhaps there is extra room in the nearby school in the evenings?
  • Perhaps there could be a place to wash and service bikes near the bike shelter?
  • You don’t need a drill but holes! Is there a way to share tools, sewing machines and other useful items with your neighbours?
  • If you are handy, you can offer to help repair or service bikes, furniture or clothes through social media.
  • Choose products that last and can be repaired.
